lcd hdtv, 1080p hdtv As I have been saying in my previous posts, I am on the hunt for a LCD HDTV for my bedroom. Not wanting to spend 350+ dollars without a little research, I have come across all sorts of interesting online articles about 720p to 1080p HDTV screens. This morning I found one from millennialliving.com, which emphasized how much energy a Plasma or LCD HDTV screen uses depending on the size. Would you believe that some screens use more electricity then a fridge? It’s true and that is why it is so important to look for the green screens out there who were developed to save you some cash on the energy bill.

The article titled Your Flat Screen TV is an energy hog, said up to 10 percent of an energy bill can be from flat screen TVs. This is of course referring to the larger sets out there but it is pretty eye opening. It’s not like people aren’t going to go with flat panels because old school tube TVs also hog energy but it does make me want to find an energy efficient screen. For the record plasmas use more energy but in turn viewers get a brighter more vibrant picture. It’s give and take but honestly the bill will only be a few dollars more when replacing a tube TV. I think a LCD HDTV is worth every penny.
