Hiking is my favorite thing to do. I have hiked several mountain chains, gone from California to North Carolina, and even hiked a little through Chile. What I like the most about it is I can now navigate with my Garmin GPS instead of my maps or asking locals for directions. That last one... that one gets me into trouble every time.

I was in West Virginia, crossing over the mountains on my hike across the country. I had already walked 2,000 miles and now I only had a little ways to go. I didn't have a Garmin GPS then so I had to rely on some of the local towns people to get me to my next destination. I wanted to find a town that I thought was just down the road, but asked to make sure. I guess it was pick on the traveler day. They said, "That town is south down this here road, past the next two towns." I fell for it. I walked three towns south and was now over 60 miles south west of where I needed to go! Now, I just ask my buddy Garmin GPS and he takes me right to where I want to go.
