home theater components Being a media enthusiast, I have a few home theater components set up in my apartment for some optimal sound quality. My problem is hiding all of the wires. Not having the means for a professional install means doing things the long way. The easy part is picking out home theater components online. The hard part is seamlessly blending them into a living room or bedroom. I was at a mutual friends apartment a week ago who has some serious home theater components including a projector and floor mounted speakers. It looks sort of funny when you come in because the couch is set up facing a blank white wall. It’s not until he boots up the projector that you’re like wow this is awesome. Apart from the serious home theater components, I noticed no wires anywhere. I asked him how he did this and he said he pulled up the carpet and ran the wire along the tack edge.

Made sense. He said it was simple you just have to watch your hands when securing the carpet back in place because the staples are not so friendly. He suggested using a Styrofoam block as a shield between the hand and carpet to avoid cuts. It’s also easier on the thin tack board that holds the carpet in place. Now all I have to figure out is how to maneuver around all the furniture.
