LCD HDTV screens continue to take over the market, currently having 62 percent market share according to pcmag.com. Considering DLP, Plasma and CRT are included in this market, having a market share well over half of what is available is pretty amazing. Each of the available types of screens have their own features and benefits. LCD HDTV screens have been the main type manufactured for most companies. The 62 percent market share makes more sense when you consider how many more LCD HDTV screens are manufactured. As far as Plasmas go only a couple of the major brands still have lines of them.

With the release of edge lit LED LCD screens, it is like the nail in the coffin. With more LCDs on the market and more people buying them, the cheaper they will become. Affordability is something we can all agree with. As far as maintenance goes, it makes more sense to buy LCD HDTV screens because so many people have them. There will be more repair people who will be able to service any problems.
