It's a volume regulator that will bump up the volume during quiet scenes and tone it down when the volume goes up. It also plays the commercials at the same volume as the rest of the show, too. That's one of the most annoying things about watching TV shows. When we play movies on our home theater components, we don't have to worry about being interrupted by a blast of noise from those hyper commercials so popular during the holidays.

I ordered this today and should have it within a week. According to the product description, it'll be simple to install and if it lives up to its description, I'll be ordering a few more for my sisters and brothers, too. Like us, they have all the home theater components put together, but struggle with the volume control.
