This morning, the phone rang around six and I grabbed it quickly, so I wouldn't wake my husband, who had worked all night and had just gone to bed about a half hour before. It was my best friend and she was in a panic. They were on their way out of town for a family vacation when the GPS stopped working. Obviously, there were no stores that were open, so she wanted to know if we could loan her our Garmin GPS for the trip. I felt so bad for her, I know how much they had been looking forward to this trip and I couldn't imagine that we'd need the Garmin GPS this coming week or weekend. So, I asked where she was and suggested that I toss on some clothes and bring them the Garmin GPS.

She said they'd just pulled into McDonald's, which happens to be about 3 miles from my home and she offered to come pick it up. But, I figured it would be easier for me to toss on some clothes, and meet her with the Garmin GPS while they were having breakfast. I also figured, I was up for the long haul and I would stay and have breakfast with them, while I explained how the Garmin GPS worked, since I knew it was a little different than theirs.

It took me about ten minutes to change out of my PJs, splash some water on my face, get dressed and drive to McDonald's. I almost walked out the door without the Garmin GPS, so went back in and grabbed it. I can only imagine how silly I would have felt if I had gone all the way to the restaurant without the Garmin GPS. My friends were just getting their breakfast when I arrived, so I grabbed a cup of coffee and an Egg McMuffin and sat down to give them a quick tutorial about the Garmin GPS. It didn't take them long to start making comments about how great the Garmin nuvi 760 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Automobile Navigator seemed to be in comparison to theirs. They headed off after breakfast on what I hope will be a great vacation, and I headed home in hopes of getting a little more sleep.
